Providing the perfect new member for your family

Our Story

Located in the western suburbs of Adelaide,​ Australia, we breed healthy and happy Spitzsky, Pomsky and Toy Alaskan Klee Kai puppies. These puppies are bred from our Alaskan Klee Kai which are crossed with our purebred Japanese Spitz, our purebred German Spitz and our resident Spitzsky. These breeds are closely related to the Pomeranian.

There are many breeds of dogs in the Spitz family and Google can tell you all about them. We urge potential owners to research the Spitzky, Pomsky, Toy Alaskan Klee Kai and German Spitz so that you can be informed and aware of their traits, characteristics, health issues and grooming requirements. They make a fantastic family addition as they are very intelligent, affectionate, loyal and trainable.

We take great pleasure in providing families with our beautiful puppies and enjoy hearing stories of their progress. Families interested in purchasing a puppy may come and view both the parent in person, or via Facetime conversations where we can show the puppies to their new or potential families.

If you are interested in finding out more, please get in touch with us. We can provide further information on the puppies, their parentage and the availability of future litters. A questionnaire is forwarded to those seriously considering making a purchase, where upon completion, we assess which of our puppies would be the most suitable for you.

Meet Kelly

I started my interest in animals from the time I could walk. In fact my entire life has been around animals and working with amazing people and industries. With many family owned businesses here in Adelaide, South Australia life had kept me busy, with half my time spent in suburbia the other on acreage in the Adelaide Hills.

I was introduced to the German Spitz breed in 2010. Immediately, I felt such a passion for the breed. I soon acquired 2 male Toy Alaskan Klee Kai x Pomeranians and have since become a registered breeder.

I then researched the Pomeranian, German Spitz, Japanese Spitz and Alaskan Klee Kai. These members of the Spitz family have an incredible loyalty factor, are highly intelligent, affectionate and very trainable.

Our Breeding dogs are what sets us apart. I have adapted a unique system that allows trusted owners to lease my female breeding dogs to eventually go on to own them. I can then select the dogs I wish to breed and I whelp in my home. This ensures that all my dogs have a one on one lifestyle.

About the breeds

Adelaide Klee Kai Spitz was first founded on the imported bloodlines of the German Spitz in 2013.

From in-depth research and experience, we discovered that the German Spitz in particular was a breed that are not only very healthy on the Genetic and DNA panels and noted almost everywhere on internet searches, but that their temperaments are consistently impeccable.

Therefore, the lines suited our future plans perfectly and by using these as a cross to another breed, the Alaskan Klee Kai, that were once also made up of the Spitz, we could reintroduce them and make a cross back even better, boosting the health, coat and temperament parameters.

The Alaskan Klee Kai are rare and more so the toy size. We had the opportunity to purchase a toy sized male after a few years of working with our German Spitz lines. We worked hard with our mentors to plan out a sustainable, ethical and professional future program for ourselves.

The Klee Kai are a designer breed bringing together the best traits and look of the Alaskan Husky and the smaller size and better coat and health of the Spitz breeds. We have taken things one step forward by going back.

Alaskan Huskies were bred from the Siberian breed and crossed to make them more workable for those that required a dog to be more family friendly, trainable and intelligent in foresight, which meant that they themselves could make snap life or death decisions, thus protecting themselves and their beloved human. These traits were exactly what we wanted in smaller sizes.
